The weather, as usual, was great for golf. Tee off time on the first day was arranged for 1.30pm, so most players were into it soon after arrival and check in at the on-course Motel. The course and surrounding gardens were picture perfect and in excellent condition however the greens had recently been cored and re-sanded and this made it a bit more difficult to read putts.
The traditional BBQ lunch was enjoyed by all and our cooks John Bridgland and Margaret Stevens kept us supplied with a feast of sausages and onions.
We all enjoyed nibbles and drinks after each days play prior to dinner in the golf club bistro, and a little dabble on the 'pokies' afterwards! Club President, Ian Jackson, presented bottles of wine to Barry and Margaret Stevens on behalf of all those attending and thanked them for the work they had put into making the outing another great success.
At dinner on the last night Ian Jackson presented the prestigious trophies for the 'longest ladies drive' and 'nearest to the pin' again to Julie Kent and the 'men's longest drive' trophy - to himself!! Well done Julie and Ian. Such are the amenities that we enjoy, and the social aspects of our past trips, that participants overwhelmingly decided on a return trip next year.
