The group enjoying a Happy Hour moment posing for a photograph together before dinner.
Margaret, Julie, Pam and Ellen decided to join the locals. Barbara and Ellen were `adopted` as surrogate mothers.
Canoes carried the Group through the canals to the Mekong Delta where a boat waited to return them to My Tho.
Beautiful views of Halong Bay (above), as we cruised the waters on a junk (much more luxurious than the name implies). Phai, our tour guide, arranging a music presentation in the ancient Temple of Literature (dating back to 1070 and the first university in Vietnam). It was exquisite music, though perhaps not to everyone's taste.
Pam, Julie and Alan joined the musicians. Food was simply glorious and presented as a sumptuous feast. The 'Dragon' was served for desert in an essential French restaurant in Saigon. Julie, Barry, Margaret and Ellen showing off our accomodation on the sleeper train from Hanoi to Lao Cai.
After a bus trip of 35 kilometers into the mountains we were greeted with sights of H'mong hilltribe people (in black) in Sa Pa. Another tribe was the Dao who wore the red headdresses. And who is the 'Happy Girl' then? - Pam, our tour organiser, is justly pleased with the results of her efforts. Thanks for a great job well done.
