President Val Dale and Hospitality Co-ordinator Helen Brown and Pam Cotton, welcomed members upon arrival and handed out complimentary drink vouchers. We congregated in the foyer, enjoying a drink and mixing together before moving into the adjacent dining room for the celebratory luncheon.
Prior to lunch being served, Club President Val Dale formally welcomed everyone to the function and said a special farewell to Ann and Bruce Parkinson who are leaving the
Club.
On the menu this year was optionally smoked turkey and virginian ham with cranberry sauce or roast pork with apple sauce all accompanied by roast vegetables and garden salad.
This was followed by traditional plum pudding with custard, brandy sauce and cream, and finally coffee, tea and chocolates. Bottomless jugs of soft drink and ice water were
also provided during the meal. Lunch was then served and everyone settled back and enjoyed the meal and each others company.
After the main course our entertainer, Peter Perez, invited people to the dance floor and played popular music from `Rock `n Roll` to `ABBA`, which got just about everybody dancing away.
Peter seemed a bit no-plussed by the line-dancing routine going on around him, but he decided to go along with everybody anyway!
Santa, (aka Robin), finally appeared and assisted by Pam and Helen drew the winners names of the lucky prizes. Santa then, supported with a grand round of acclamation from the appreciative members, officially thanked Val Dale and Helen Brown for their superb effort in organising another super celebration. President Val then wished everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
