The Club celebrated Christmas on the 14th of December 2007 with its traditional luncheon at Contessa Receptions in Mt. Waverley. Many current members, together with fifteen invited waiting list future members, celebrated another very successful year for our Club with the delicious meal and unique 'Aussie' entertainment.

Event organisers, Vice President Val Dale and Hospitality Co-ordinator Helen Brown met members upon arrival and handed out complimentary drink vouchers. Members then congregated in the foyer and enjoyed a drink and chat together before moving into the dining room for lunch.

Prior to the lunch and entertainment, Club President Ian Jackson formally welcomed everyone to the function and Club Treasurer, Doug Lawrence made the rounds of the tables collecting donations for the `Special Effort` which will go towards the purchase of new microphones for the Club.

Unique Australian entertainment was provided this year by noted bush bard, Don McQueen, whose 'Aussie' poetry and verse was both thought provoking and humourous.
Lunch was then served and everyone settled back and enjoyed the meal and each others company.
