Fifty-five members left the Melbourne fog behind and enjoyed the drive through Monbulk to The Cuckoo at Olinda in the Dandenong's for a "Christmas In July" outing. The popular restaurant began in 1958 and the Koeppen family have worked hard to build the Cuckoo into one of Australia's most successful restaurants. Our members enjoyed a traditional Christmas lunch (soup, roast turkey, ham and the trimmings, plum pudding or pavlova plus tea and coffee) served to the table. The floor show was entertaining with yodelling and bell ringing participation by our own Doug Campbell, a visit by Father Christmas and carol singing. After much gaiety we made our way home via Belgrave to Wheelers Hill. A relaxing fun day for all.
